The SARB033 is a legendary watch. It is widely praised for its classic styling, 38mm size, and exceptional value for the money. Sadly, it has been recently discontinued by Seiko *. While you can still buy one, the watch (and its cream dialed cousin the SARB035) is commanding a higher price than a few years ago. However, not everyone wants or can drop 4K on a watch so I would say that the SARB033 is a solid affordable alternative to the Explorer in that it fulfills the versatile, black watch category in its own, unique way and does so wonderfully at a fraction of the Rolex's price tag. If the Rolex Submariner is the most recognizable timepiece in the luxury world, then the Seiko SARB033 is the affordable equivalent. Seriously, it’s one of the most iconic affordable watches within the past decade. What are some peoples thoughts about the Seiko SARB033 being an affordable alternative to a Rolex Explorer I? I want something that I can wear doing almost anything, has some water resistance, but also something I can dress up.
