Does anyone know if ref no. 116500LN should have one? My friend purchased a pre-owned Daytona; however, we couldn't locate the laser etched crown. Both transparent and white are used by Rolex/Tudor. More than a QR code, it is a next gen 'bar' code. From a mechanical stand point, it is 'easier' for a scanner to 'read' the printing over a white backdrop vs polished steel. The polished edge is far less susceptible to chipping and it's one of the upgrades to older models that I solidly recommend along with the monobloc crown. It's a lot easier to see on the phone camera. I love seeing the Laser Etched Crown. It's all about the lighting, not a loupe.

A mobile phone camera should be able to capture it at an oblique angle as well, note the crown signet visible in the picture. Try lighting it at <45* and moving your head or the watch around at slight angles - you should be able to see it on the crystal with your naked eye.
